Here is my Ghibli-inspired stylized environment made in Unreal Engine 5. After having a some practice in creating stylized environment in Unreal Engine 5, I decided to achieve Ghibli-inspired look in it from scratch. Thanks to Orb brushes I gave stylized look for trees, rocks and cliffs. Although I made basic stylized texture in Substance Painter, to give much more Ghibli essence I created configurable material shaders in Unreal Engine. Another crucial part to catch Ghibli look is foliage shading with WPO (for wind effect) also done in engine. I used one of the cool features of Unreal Engine is Runtime Virtual Texture to make more holistic connection between landscape and other elements like rocks and grass. I also used another cool feature Niagara plug-in for stylized wind effect. Hope you enjoy it!
